Description

Pamphlet Description: Frank Weston, D. D., Bishop of Zanzibar,
The Black Slaves of Prussia. Open Letter to General Smuts.
Boston and New York: Houghton, Mifflin, 1918, 23 pages. Approximately 4 ¾” x 7 ¼”. Pages brittle and there are some small chips. Otherwise in good condition with clean pages and good binding.  In this letter, the Bishop urges that the allies, in their peace negotiations, not act hastily and protect the interests of Zanzibar. He fears that the Germans, with their support of slavery, will over-un his country and re-introduce the practice. An interesting sidelight of WWI.
